From Tradition to Triumph

Our story, like life itself, is a canvas painted with passion, perseverance, and a sprinkle of serendipity. Just as a masterpiece unfolds through dedication and a hopeful heart, so too did Kraak Beskuit emerge from a legacy of baking, a mother’s traditional recipe, and a daughter’s entrepreneurial spirit.

It all began with a simple cookie jar, brimming with homemade rusks, a constant companion through childhood memories. Fast forward to 2019, and that familiar love for baking inspired a young Esté to turn her grandmother’s recipe into a thriving business venture. With family support and a dash of youthful ingenuity, her rusks quickly became a local favourite.

Even as Esté flew the nest to pursue her dreams, the baking tradition continued. In 2023, inspired by my mother’s classic recipe, I, Marthlé Smith embarked on a culinary adventure, crafting a unique and innovative blend of Muesli, Cranberries and White Chocolate. Encouraged by friends, we entered the prestigious RSG & Virseker Bakgat Beskuit Kompetisie. And then, the magic happened…
